The study on “Non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding” offers an overview of the disease, covering its epidemiology, diagnosis, screening, prevention and management. With non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding being one of the most frequent causes of hospitalization, morbidity and mortality associated with digestive diseases, this study presents new approaches in prevention, diagnosis and therapy (Nat Rev Dis Primers. 2018 Apr 19;4:18020. doi: 10.1038/nrdp.2018.20).

Prof Sung was the seventh Vice-Chancellor and President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and his research interests include intestinal bleeding, Helicobacter Pylori, peptic ulcer and colorectal cancer. He has published over 700 articles in leading scientific journals.
